I believe that by moving through your divorce with a plan, you can relax a little more, breathe a little more, and trust the process a little more.

1) Mapping Your Journey Intro

My Introductory Strategy Series (3 Sessions)

You may have chosen this journey of separation and divorce, or been asked to embark upon it. You may still be contemplating it. Either way, the first step is to get clarity and direction on where you are and where you want to go.

All new clients start with these three 90-minute strategy sessions — that’s 4.5 hours of one-on-one coaching with me via Zoom or in-person. Compress into 3 weeks or stretch across 6 months — whatever fits your timeline.

What you’ll achieve:

  • Address the burning questions that are keeping you up at night.

  • Get crystal clear on your financial situation, now and with an eye to what it could be.

  • Identify the key obstacles & opportunities you’ll need to navigate in your separation.

  • Understand the costs and timelines of the various routes to divorce.

  • Assess how prepared you are for this transformational journey, and who should be on your support team.

  • Get organizing templates for your spending, assets, marital history, etc.

  • Prepare for hiring or meeting with an attorney, making the most of their time with you.

  • Reduce overwhelm by getting clear on your next best steps, and have someone holding you accountable for actually taking them.

The process:

  1. Complimentary Consultation (click to book yours!) to meet and begin the conversation.

  2. Comprehensive intake questionnaire for you to share your resources and goals.

  3. Option to upload documents for your coach’s review.

  4. 90-minute Introductory Session to get the lay of the land.

  5. Two additional 90-minute Strategy Sessions to support you in your next steps.

  6. Email support between sessions.

  7. Ability to book additional Strategy Sessions in future or move into my monthly program.

The takeaway:

Your next best steps and a map to guide you — we literally sketch it out!

Why do this:

Start your journey with confidence and an inspiring vision for what lies ahead.

Thanks a heap for the action steps and resources! I came away from our session feeling so grateful for your knowledge, curiosity, reframing, and compassion for both parties. I appreciated it all.

2) Cover Ground Quickly in One Day

My one-day, in-person V.I.P. intensive (offered one Saturday or Sunday per month)

Is time of the essence in your divorce process? Are you too busy to meet during the work week?

You may need to know where you’re starting from financially in a hurry (like, yesterday). Perhaps you need to thoroughly prepare for a critical negotiation or meeting, or assess a proposed divorce settlement agreement. Dedicate one whole day to making blazingly fast progress down the trail.

I invite you to spend the day with me in Port Townsend, or I’ll come to you within a 2-hour travel time radius.

Get strategic guidance with my 6-hour V.I.P. intensive, followed by one month of access to your coach for follow-up questions and accountability.

What you’ll achieve:

  • Fast action on whatever is top priority in your separation or divorce.

  • Momentum that enables your support team to move forward on your behalf.

  • Guidance from a personal finance expert (there are no dumb questions; ask away!).

  • Calculators to run scenarios, checklists to follow, spreadsheets for organizing.

  • Sent in advance: your own copy of the book Women, Divorce, and Money: Taking Control of Your Finances and Your Future by David Stolz.

The process:

  1. Two 3-hour work sessions, with a break for lunch from a local restaurant (my treat!).

  2. Email and text support for one month afterward.

  3. Continued support with one-off Strategy Sessions as needed, or move into my monthly program.

The takeaway:

You sprint ahead, making real progress where you have felt stalled. Yes, it’s hard work, but your guide will pace you and encourage you to finish what you started.

Why do this:

Commit just one day in your busy life to getting organized, educating yourself, and taking care of details that are required to reach the finish line of this journey. With good company, you might even have some fun!

There is no shortcut to get through your divorce. The only way out is through. But the difficult road of your divorce can lead to a beautiful destination.
— David Stolz in "Women, Divorce, and Money"

Divorce is a momentous journey, one that has the power to transform your life for the better. I’ve made the harrowing trip and come out the other side to a life I love.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not directly, as I don’t meet with both spouses. As a coach, I work for and on behalf of just one person – you! However, if YOU are the one “project managing” your divorce, I can help YOU develop a financial proposal to present to your spouse – and it might be accepted outright or provide the foundation for negotiation.

For couples seeking a “financial neutral” to assist them both in understanding their financial situation and drafting a division of assets and debts that feels fair to them, I refer to a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (search the official directory).

  • Yes and yes. I have and will continue to serve both. The key is that you were legally married and are seeking to dissolve that marriage in a Washington State court.

  • In Washington State, this is known as a Committed Intimate Relationship (CIR). Yes, I can help you understand your financial situation and strategize your next steps.

Let’s talk sooner than later! I have assisted a number of individuals in this situation, and the biggest mistake I see is waiting too long after separating to formalize agreements.

  • If you are just pondering the question “Should I stay or should I go?”, then my introductory strategy series is for you. We'll look at the financial ramifications of a possible divorce so you can make an informed, empowered decision about your next steps

If you suspect your spouse wants a divorce, engaging me is a proactive step you can take to understand your financial situation.

  • Congratulations and condolences! You’re in the messy middle, and if you’ve gotten there without a clear picture of your present financial situation, it’s not too late to engage me. I’d love to have a chat.

  • I’m a financial coach, so I can help with that, too! Head on over to my financial coaching page to book a First Steps Call or Beach Walk to discuss what that support looks like.

  • Divorce laws are state-specific and quite variable. I choose to focus on clients who are divorcing in Washington State (usually one spouse is living here) so that I can bring valuable expertise to the table.

I keep up to date on the specifics of my home state’s community property rules, filing requirements, government pensions, etc.

  • Yes, if my coaching turns out not to be a good fit, either one of us may choose to end the coaching relationship early.

As long as 48 hours’ notice is provided before a scheduled session, it may be canceled for a pro-rated refund of the pre-paid amount. (Note that for my Introductory Strategy Series, 50% of the cost is applied to the first session, and 25% each to the second and third sessions.) Refunds for unused sessions must be requested in writing and are not provided beyond six months after initial purchase.

  • I’m here for you! We’ll discuss the options during your third and final session in this package. Consider me to be on your financial team going forward.
